I just started at the Linux Foundation working on the Core Infrastructure Initiative (today is day 18). The initiative is up and running, but is currently pretty opaque. I'd like to start changing that and involving open source communities in the discussion, particularly the Linux security community. To that end, I'm proposing a discussion topic at LSS on what the CII is and should be doing. Linux Foundation’s Core Infrastructure Initiative The Linux Foundation announced the Core Infrastructure Initiative on April 24 of last year to “fund and support critical elements of the global information infrastructure” and famously funded two OpenSSL developers. What else has the project achieved since then? Has the initiative made an impact? This topic will present an update of what the initiative is doing, including a brief description of the open source Census project and the goals behind the Best Practices project. We invite a discussion about what more needs to be done and how we can pull together as a community to improve internet security for everybody. Thanks for your consideration, Emily [ Part 2: "Attached Text" ] _______________________________________________ lss-pc mailing list lss-pc@lists.linuxfoundation.org https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/lss-pc
